The AfroBang sound is inspired by my upbringing in the Tony West and the Imani African Dance Company in Columbus, OH, my friends and family and my love for hip hop. It fuses influences from the likes of traditional West African drum patterns, Fela Kuti, James Brown, and William Onyeabor all the way to Kid Cudi, Migos, Lex Luger, Sango, amongst many others.

The main objective of the sound is to mash up the vibes from these various influences to create a sound that fully represents the Diaspora as one. Music has always been a powerful unifying force, and I know that AfroBang has and will continue to bring people together around the world.
